COVID-19 Advisory

Update to ORANGGE SETTING
12 May 2022

Little London is taking precautions to protect our staff and most vulnerable patients from avoidable spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

We have a dedicated cabin outside where we will treat all patients exhibiting cold and flu symptoms or requiring a Covid-19 test. This area is cleaned regularly as per our infectious areas cleaning protocols and staff entering this area will be wearing full PPE.

Remember, Covid vaccinations are our best defence. Anyone aged 5 years and over can now book on 0800 28 29 26 or at www.bookmyvaccine.covid19.health.nz

Covid-19 Vaccine Boosters are now available for all adults who had their vaccine 3 months ago.

We are here to help – we can offer phone or video consultations wherever possible to reduce unnecessary contact in our practice. But if you do need to be seen in person, you will be.

If you need an appointment our advice is STAY AT HOME – USE THE PHONE. Do not come into the practice.

When you phone Little London:

  1. Please be ready to tell the receptionist – your full name and the primary reason for calling, eg an appointment; and whether that appointment is urgent or not urgent.

  2. Please advise the receptionist if you have any of these symptoms:

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Runny nose

  • Sore throat

  • Shortness of breath

  • Loss of smell or taste

AND please tell us if you have had contact with a positive case; returned from overseas or had contact with someone who has been overseas

Your appointment

You may come into the building when it is time for your appointment. You will be asked screening questions on your way in.

Please wear a mask to your appointment. You should wear a mask whenever you leave your home.

Prescriptions and lab forms

We will send all requested prescriptions directly to your pharmacy and all lab requests directly to your preferred branch of Pathlab.

Covid-19 testing

RAT tests are now the recommended Covid-19 tests for almost everyone. See info on where RAT tests are available here.

You can phone us 07 8395004 to book a Covid test if you need assistance doing a RAT test, or if you have just returned from overseas (returned travellers require a PCR swab after a positive home RAT).

If you are unwell and think you could have Covid-19, please phone the COVID-19 Healthline – 0800 358 5453 and they will advise you on what to do. This is especially important if you have known contact with a Covid-19 case, have been overseas, or have been to a location of interest.

If you become severely ill, especially with shortness of breath or fever, please go directly to the emergency department of your nearest hospital or call 111 if you need to.
